DC lets eligible non-residents shop through a temporary patient registration, and some out-of-state medical cannabis registrations are recognized through reciprocity.
Check Eligibility Before Traveling
Start with ABCA’s patient page and reciprocity page to see which path applies to you. If your home state’s medical card is recognized, you may be able to use it. If not, you can apply for a DC temporary registration.
Complete Registration Through the Official Portal
Temporary registrations for domestic and international visitors are digital and handled through myabca.dc.gov. You must be 21 or older, and the fee depends on the validity period you choose. Do not rely on old screenshots or outdated fee lists.
Bring Government ID
Carry a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport, along with your registration.
